Wardrobe Basics!

Happy Monday!   I hope that your week if off to an incredible start!  Recently, I helped a sweet person take a wardrobe inventory and think about how to add a bit of pizzazz to basic wardrobe pieces such as classic velvet blazers and crewneck sweaters.  We talked a lot about how to elevate classic pieces with accessories, fun pops of color, and unique shoes.  The entire process made me think about the wardrobe basics that I love the most.  So, today, I am sharing two classic and incredibly versatile pieces that I think are great wardrobe basics/builders.  The J. Crew Juliette Collarless Sweater-Blazer is a wardrobe must-have in my opinion.  The sweater is SOOOO flattering and it pairs well with jeans, dress pants, skirts, or as a layering piece over a dress.  The collarless neckline allows you to wear the sweater-blazer with a graphic t-shirt or a shirt with a collar.  This sweater-blazer is hands down one of my favorite pieces.  It’s offered in a variety of neutral colors including black, navy, ivory, and heather charcoal.  In terms of sizing, I recommend sizing down.  I am typically a size XL, but I take this blazer in size medium.

Here is an image of me styling the blazer with another one of my key wardrobe pieces, a great pair of jeans.  I was super skeptical about trying the J. Crew Demi-Boot crop jeans because I was concerned that the leg opening would not flatter my body type.  I was SOOOOO wrong.  These jeans are the BEST jeans, EVER.  Hands down, the BEST!  I am wearing the “Cool Shadow Wash” in the image below.  I cannot recommend these jeans enough.  Fit is TTS; I am wearing the size 32.

I love the leg opening and the hemline on this jeans because it shows off the boots I am wearing!  And, I LOVEEEE these fabulous boots.  The boots fit TTS.
