Hi Everyone!
Yep, you read the title of this post right. I’m reviewing a pair of J. Crew pants. When I first spotted the Pixie Pant, I immediately thought that this is one of those “just because they make it in your size, it does not mean that it’s for you pieces.” And, I did not try these pants until this past Sunday for that reason. Boy, oh boy, was I wrong.
I have an extremely hard time finding pants that fit properly. And, in my opinion, J. Crew does not offer many pants that work for women with well ahem, butts. For example, my favorite jeans are from Ann Taylor because I cannot wear J. Crew jeans. I’ve tried the Toothpick Jean and I can barely get them over my butt.
But, I may be changing my opinion after trying these pants. Here is an IRL picture of the pants. And, yes, there is only one picture because unlike a celebrity who shall remain nameless, I am not trying to break the internet:
The pants fit great, and I was able to size down from a 14 to a 12, which is always a plus in my book!
I’m wearing the pants with the J. Crew Boyfriend Flannel Shirt in Bluegrass Plaid and the Madewell Sidney Boots.
Have you tried the Pixie Pant?
Thanks for stopping by!
I love the title of this post!! The pants look great with the plaid shirt and boots. I haven't tried them, but you've encouraged me to do so. Thanks for the review.
maryeb: Thank you SO much!!!! You're very welcome. I was hesitant to try these pants, but I am SO glad that I did! Please let me know what you think when you try them!!!
Greetings Rynetta – I love me some Pixie Pants! They are my go-to's for weekend wear and travel. I do the t-shirt/plaid shirt combo, the turtleneck/plaid shirt combo, and the tank top/plaid shirt combo with them. Since they are a heavier knit, I wear them more in cooler weather with boots. Add an Excursion Vest or a Majesty Peacoat and you are good to go! Enjoy – Jennifer
Hi Jennifer! I am totally a Pixie Pant convert. I think that you're spot on about the Excursion Vest/Majesty Peacoat combinations I cannot wait to wear the pants with those pieces!Have a great night!!!
Yay for J. Crew pants. I forget that you don't really wear them. The Pixies are soooo comfortable. So glad you tried them.
Gigi: I totally agree, yay for J. Crew pants!!! I am SO glad that I tried the Pixies too!I hope that you're having a great day!
I am a curvy gal and rarely try the pants at J Crew-which in my experience-don't work on my hips. Maybe I'll try Pixie 🙂 Are the closer to a legging than pant for you? You look awesome in them.
JulieStyles: Oh, I hear you, sister! I rarely try J. Crew pants, but that is changing now! I think that they're closer to a pant. They are thick and structured, and a bit heavier than a legging. And, thank you SO much for the compliment! Please let me know what you think of the pants if you try them!
They look so cute on you!
Tara: You're super sweet, thank you SO much!!!!
These look great on you, Rynetta. Love the look of a trim pant with boots and a longer shirt or sweater.I have bought Banana Republic's Sloan pants, which fit my somewhat curvy figure really well, but haven't tried the Pixies. I will have to give them a try the next time I see them in store.
dianespainting: You're super sweet, thank you SO much!!! Please let me know if you try the Pixie Pant–I'd love to hear your thoughts!!!!
You look great. Popping of champagne and a well balanced glass is definitely in order for the the pixies.
Jude musings: OMG, thank you!!!!! And, LOL!!!!!!!
The pixies are the ONLY pants from J Crew I can wear and I absolutely LOVE the fact that they can accommodate my extra junk in the trunk. However, I will have to check out Ann Taylor jeans since they work so well for you.On a side note, I have the same shirt but have been having some serious doubts about it. Glad to see how you styled it.
Sasha P: Oh, I get it, sister! I have tons of extra junk, LOL!!!! By the way, I tried the J. Crew Toothpick Jeans today, and they came home with me. I LOVE them!!!
I love the Pixie/Gigis! I know ladies of all shapes & sizes who swear by them. They're "magic" pants. I've also found that washing them on delicate & laying flat to dry works beautifully – no need to dry clean. I wish they'd come out with a chocolate brown! Glad they worked for you!
