Hi Everyone!
I was super excited to see that J. Crew is offering the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Cotton Twill in Navy. The excitement stops there. I have NO idea why J. Crew tinkered with the design of this skirt. The new skirt has seams in the back, which makes the fit horrible if you have any “junk in the trunk” like me. I will spare you the pictures because I looked like a mermaid:
The material and quality of the skirt is superb. Sadly, the fit is horrible.
p.s. I have a review of the Emma Leather Ballet flats scheduled for tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!
Noooooooo! Why would they mess with it?! So frustrating. Thanks for the heads up about it. Interested to hear about the Emma's.
Oh no! So sad! Are the back seams like the older double-serge pencil skirts had, the ones with two slits? I wasn't a fan of those AT ALL. What a bummer. I've been waiting on a navy pencil skirt for I don't know how long.
I noticed that in the picture on someone's site. I was shocked that they added extra seams, front and back. Maybe it would help those of us with no bottom, but then what about my belly?
That is tragic. It's been my go to skirt for a while now. Glad I've hoarded some.
Seriously?! Why would they do that? Such a shame because I was really looking forward to trying it on in the Vivid Aqua Color. Thanks for the review, now I know what to expect!http://sparrownightingale.blogspot.com/
When I saw the description on the website, I zoomed in to look at it! With my pear shaped figure, no way!!!! Why did they mess with that perfect cut? I hope that this is just an isolated change, if they start messing with other pencil skirts, oh well, on to another store!
Noooooooooooooooooo… I am pair shaped too and there is no way that this would look good. I was hoping to buy the guava one. Doh.
