Hi Everyone!
I am a huge fan of the J. Crew Collection Pencil Skirt in Inky Floral. The “inky floral” print is so unique. I’ve said it before, but I will say it again, one of the many reasons why I love J. Crew is their prints are amazing!
Here are two IRL pictures of the skirt:
Details: Sweater | Madewell Spring-weight Cardigan Sweater
Shirt| J. Crew Tilda Rhinestone Top; similar, J. Crew Beaded Cap-Sleeve Top
Skirt | J. Crew Collection Pencil Skirt in Inky Floral
Shoes | J. Crew Lillian Patent Low Wedges; similar, J. Crew Corsica Espadrille Wedges
I love how the skirt is styled on the website. However, please note that the skirt does not have the side slit shown in the website image. The skirt fits TTS; I took my normal size 14.

ER Heart Albay: Thank you SO much, I really appreciate the compliment!
Are all those prints you are showing the Inky Floral? My understanding is that the Inky Floral is different from the Polynesian Floral (albeit quite similar in color and style). I prefer the Inky Floral — I love that shift dress in the inky, but its already sold out in my size. Boo!
Blakemdjohns: You're right, some of the prints are the polynesian floral. I was thinking that they are quite similar as you point out. I love that shift dress, too! I think that J. Crew is ordering fewer quantities in some items these days. Boo is right!
The skirt may actually have the side split as shown in the catalogue. Clothing with splits and openings (like the back of a blazer) is often lightly sewn (basted) to keep it flat during shipping. Check the side where the opening should be and see if it isn't lightly sewn with very widely spaced threads – you can just cut these. I see so many people who haven't removed basting stitches from their clothes because they don't know that they aren't part of the design. PS Love your blog!
Wilfie: Thank you SO much!!! I have checked the skirt multiple times, and I don't see the slits. I'll ask my amazing hubby and VPS to look it over, too! I appreciate your help!!!
Gorgeous skirt! I love it! The photo on the website looks like a kick pleat in the back to me. Does it have a kick pleat??
Vava: I totally agree, it's a gorgeous skirt!!!! I don't see a kick pleat. The skirt lays flat in the back on me. HTH!
