Hi Everyone!
I am SO thankful to God that the Fall 2012 academic semester is OVER! I taught an honors course that I loved on Love and Sex in American Literary History; however, I am exhausted.com.
Today, I thought that it would be fun to share a few things about myself. You already know that I LOVE J. Crew. I’d love for you to chime in! Here it goes:
1. Charmin is my favorite toilet paper. I refuse, I mean flat out refuse, to buy anything else. My amazing husband, on the other hand, would buy whatever brand he saw first if I’d let him. The manager at the Rite Aid near our house refers to me as the “Charmin Girl.” As long as you know, brother. Now, make sure that you keep it in stock!:
2. I’m also a Cheer Girl. I refuse to buy any other kind of detergent:
When I was growing up, my wonderful mom bought whatever detergent was on sale. Yeah, that scarred me for life.
3. I’ve never had an alcoholic beverage before in my life. My students are astonished when I tell them this. I’d prefer to be the designated driver (although none of our friends drink either). And, I don’t care if other people drink at all, as long as they don’t drink and drive–that’s where I draw the line. I’ve contemplated posting up outside bars on the weekend and offering to drive people home; however, my husband doesn’t think that will go over too well.
4. My favorite Starbucks drink is an iced White Chocolate Mocha without the whip cream. Sunday, a woman at church walked up to me and handed me a gift card to Starbucks. She simply said, “Merry Christmas, I know that you love coffee.” Wow, how sweet. I’m definitely paying it forward this week:
5. My husband is AMAZING; I have a t-shirt to prove it:
You’ll be happy to know that I’m wearing this t-shirt today.
6. Finally, I’m a hotel snob. I research hotels for days before making a decision about where to stay. And, most likely, my decision is influenced by the location of the nearest J. Crew!
Enough about me, do you have any quirks/ brand preferences?
Thanks for stopping by!
rynetta, this is a great post! I have never had an iced white chocolate mocha from Starbucks, in fact… I didn't even know there was such a thing! I am definitely getting one next time I go because it looks DELICIOUS. Thanks for sharing these tidbits about yourself!

Rynetta – you are so funny!Okay, you know me, your post just raises some questions and comments:1) how do I sign up for this course!!! I bet you are an amazing professor! I think I told you that my daughter is in third year english lit – she is so happy and just loving it and became quite a fan of Phyllis Wheatley and her poetry and her life and I actually found her a little phyllis wheatley doll on Etsy!2) I like Charmin too!3) we use Sunlight laundry soap, but I think it is just canadian4) I think your husband rocks, too!5) I am having a crazy love affair with decaf gingerbread latte from Starbucks6) I wish you would drive me home from dinner parties where I do have a drink. My daughter is 20 and has never drank nor had any interest in drinking… hmmm.. you aren't her mother are you? non-drinking, english literature..Everything about me is sadly quirky. I am a hotel snob too! Loved this post!
WMM: Awwww, thanks SO much!!! You're super, super sweet. I work really hard, so I hope that students enjoy my classes. Your daughter is the best. LOL about being her mother!!! I LOVE my field. And, I love Wheatley's poetry!!! OMG, a Wheatley doll on Etsy???? I'm headed to find one after I finish typing this comment!!!About your list: I LOVE it! The gingerbread latte is so delicious. I had one yesterday. And, hotel snobs unite! Thanks SO much for being here!
Hi – bought mine from the following:http://www.etsy.com/shop/UneekDollDesigns
What a fun post!I like store brand TP but "very soft" onlyI use ALL clear detergent — to keep my HE washer happyI love Mighty Leaf green tea — I'm addicted to it and I order it by mail each month
TC: Thanks SO much!! I love your list, especially the "very soft" part! My amazing husband says that toilet paper is toilet paper. I say that not all toilet paper is created equal! Thanks SO much for being here!
Rynetta, do you mind if I do the same post ? I think its good to learn things about each other. Let me know.
Angie's Closet: I don't mind at all!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
You are the cutest! I had to LOL because Charmin is my favorite TP too! We buy ours at Costco though and I'm always bummed when it isn't in stock and we have to get a different brand. So glad I'm not the only one with a serious TP preference:) My drink of choice is soy chai tea latte, from Dunkin Donuts! What a wonderful gesture in the form of the Starbucks gift! The other day at Panera, the lady at the register said she had something for me and handed me a holiday cookie. It really brightened my day! Definitely time to pay some things forward:) Hope you have a very Happy Holiday filled with all of your favorites (especially J.Crew:))! xo
Thanks for sharing some personal things about you!I love coffee, but i only drink unflavored coffee. When i buy it to make at home,it has to be a certain(german) brand. My mom shipped it to me when i lived in the US.Little acts of kindness really do make a difference!
This is a fun post! I'm with you 100% on #6! The hotel is an important part of the vacay/trip, IMHO, so I want it to be nice. I scour TripAdvisor like I'm getting paid to research hotels. I recently visited a friend in a very small town where the hotel choices were EXTREMELY limited, and I'm sorry to say, I had quite the bad attitude for a minute there. Then I got over it 🙂
