Hi Everyone!
Okay, I try really hard not to complain. Today, however, I just need to vent. Please feel free to join me. Today has been a great day; however, there are a few things that have caused me to get testy today.
1. I strongly dislike forgetting things. Here’s what I forgot: I didn’t list Ina’s wonderful blog, Ina in Wonderland, in my One Lovely Award Blog Post a few days ago. I’m praying that I didn’t overlook anyone else. I’ve become the absent-minded professor I promised not to become. Please forgive me.
2. I strongly dislike when bloggers are too busy to respond to questions on blog posts. None of the blogs I frequent and love do this, but I’ve noticed blogs that I don’t follow (at times links lead me to these blogs) where readers are asking for information about an outfit to no avail. I love this community because people are responsive and caring.
3. I called the 1-800 number for a retailer that shall remain nameless to ask for information about an item that the company has posted pictures of on their twitter and instagram accounts. The CS representative was adamant that she couldn’t help me without a style number (I normally have the style #, but the item is sold out online, and my local retail store never received the item). I was able to find the item after I followed someone else’s link from Instagram back to their blog. The person said that they own the item, I noticed that they live in Austin, Texas, so I called the retail stores in Austin. Thankfully, a really helpful associate found the item for me in Dallas, Texas. It’s on the way to me. Why was this process so frustrating? I was definitely reminded about why I shop almost exclusively at J. Crew and Anthropologie.
And, finally, I bought this lovely shirt today. I just can’t resist polka dots:
Did anything test your patience today? Do tell!
Thanks for letting me vent. Believe me, I know that there are bigger world problems.
Thanks for stopping by!

You are always positive, and even if I don't comment, your blog means so much to me. I completely understand your frustration. But, you are an inspiration to me… so acomplished in your field AND well dressed. Three cheers to you! I so look forward to your blog every day! XO XO!!

I hate forgetting things too. I try to be so deligent about making lists and checking twice that when I do forget something I really take it hard. Even when it's something trivial. I hope tomorrow is better and enjoy your new shirt.
Misty Lynn: Thanks SO much!!! Today is much better. I hear you totally about forgetting things. It makes me feel so bad. I'm trying not to be so hard on myself, but I'm a work in progress! Thanks SO much for being here!
Fun shirt! So which is your favorite, the GAP polka dot or the J. Crew polka dot? I haven't seen the GAP one in the store yet, but have the J. Crew one and the fabric on it and the fit are unusual for a chambray, so I'll bet the GAP one feels different to you even though it is the same concept. The last time I was in the GAP, though, I noticed that some of their things are looking very similar to J. Crew. I think they had Cafe Capri-type pants, for example. I didn't try them on, but they really looked similar. Keep a lookout at the GAP, I have a feeling they are about to move in a J. Crew direction (minus some of those crazy J. Crew prices, I hope!).
cate: I totally agree that this is a fun shirt. I can't wait to get it in my hands!!! I'll post a comparison of this shirt with the J. Crew shirt as soon as this one arrives. I've seen reviews that note that the Gap shirt is a bit heavier than the J. Crew version. And, I totally agree with you that Gap clothing is starting to look very similar to J. Crew. Thanks SO much for being here!
Oh- and I hope tomorrow is a better day!
cate: Thanks SO much!!! I'm having a much better day today!
Rynetta, today has been a day for me too! Frustrations at the office and just getting too much deferred to me. I know, I know, I can hear the violin playing but it's been a day from you know where. I will say though that I'm delighted you were finally able to track down your wanted item and YES, j crew CS is super hard to beat!
Skylette: I'm so sorry to hear that you had a bad day yesterday too. I sincerely hope that today is better for you!!! You're so right that J. Crew customer service is really hard to beat!!Thanks SO much for being here!!
Ugh- I hate these kinds of little niggling irritants! They just stick with you for too long. Enjoy your gorgeous polka dots- that's one of my recent irritants actually, that neither J Crew or Gap anticipated demand for such a lovely item. I haven't been able to get my hands on either! I always hated that about shopping in B&M stores but for these even online hasn't been able to keep up!
thatdamngreendress: I'm with you! The little irritants can really add up. I'm so glad that today is a better day! What size do you need in the J. Crew chambray polka dot shirt? I'd be glad to check my local retail store and surrounding areas to see if they have the shirt. I'm with you, it's weird how stores seem unable to anticipate demand accurately. Thanks SO much for being here!
Hope you have a better day tomorrow! Maybe the froggy bracelet will show up to brighten your day! Love the Gap shirt.
Rose: Thanks SO much!! I'm having a much better day! And, I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my froggy bracelet; it's "out for delivery," yay!!!! I'm headed to your wonderful blog now to comment on how lovely the Gap polka dot shirt looks on you!!Thanks SO much for being here!
Sorry to hear about your day Rynetta but at least you got a chance to vent and that's always good. I hope you like your new shirt, I LOVE IT and haven't seen it irl but it looks adorable. I'm on a shopping ban but I can't resist polka-dots too 🙂 Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Joelle: Thanks SO much!! You're right, venting can be really helpful! I'm having a much better day today. I LOVE the Gap polka dot shirt too. I can't wait to get my hands on this baby! Thanks SO much for being here!!
Sorry to hear that your are frustrated and had a bad day.I can totally understand it,it also annoys me if some bloggers never answer or commment on questions.Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day:)!Btw. thanks for including me in your One Lovely Blog Award, that was very kind!
Ina: Today is a much better day!!! Thanks SO much! I'm with you about the commenting thing. I just wish that everyone would be as responsive as this community. And, my apologies for the oversight. I LOVE your blog!!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
I LOVE that you bought that Gap polka dot shirt; can't wait to see how you style it! Did you ever find out the style number for the shirt? My sister has been searching for this shirt everywhere but it seems like most of the Gap stores in NYC are sold out =(
Hi Marlene!I'm super excited about this shirt! I love it too. The style # is 243596002. This is the number that I was given in an email response from Gap customer service. I hope this helps! Thanks SO much for being here!
Rynetta, I thought of you went I went to my local store today–they were putting out a new bubble necklace in kelly green!
AD MD: Thanks for thinking of me!!! Do you mind telling me which store? I want that necklace, LOL!!! TIA!Thanks SO much for being here!
Rynetta, I saw it at the Westlake, Ohio store! HTH!
AD MD: Thanks SO much!!!!
No problem at all, please do a review if you decide to purchase the necklace!!
You got it!!!
I think the Gap version will be different enough from the JC that you may want to keep it. I'll be curious to see what you think. 🙂
Gigi: I totally agree with you! The Gap version is scheduled to arrive on Monday. I think that I've already decided to keep both shirts, LOL!Thanks SO much for being here!
