Hi Everyone!
I received the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Royal Paisley last week. I really like the pattern and the quality. The fabric is sturdy and the colors are simply beautiful! My only concern is how to style it. Here are a few pics:
I really like how the skirt is styled on the J. Crew website here:
ETA: Check out the wonderful styling options for this skirt here and here on the wonderful A Bigger Closet!
What do you think of the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Royal Paisley? Do you own it? Do tell!
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi~ Love the skirt. I have the paisley print from summer (the navy) one. Is it the same print? Can't wait to see how you style it!
It's very pretty, but now I am thinking winter clothes. 🙂
Lizzy T: thanks!!! I have the paisley skirt from the summer too. I think that the print is different. The summer version has more navy and orange in it, while the royal paisley has more green and purple. My ps suggested pairing the royal paisley with the Blythe blouse in extravagant green. I will post pics of that combination to see if it works. Thanks for being here!Rose: thanks!!! I'm trying to focus on winter too. And, I'm trying to think of ways to winterize this print!!!
Hi rynetta! The skirt looks great on you. I just got mine today and will be doing a post with it also. I just love it and think it works with so many shades of JC's blue, purple, and greens from present and past seasons. It's definitely not just a spring/summer skirt IMO.
Hi ABC!! Thanks so much! I cannot wait to see your post, as well as how you style the skirt!! I think you're right, the sturdy material makes this skirt very transitional. Looking forward to your post. Thanks for being here!
Can't wait to see how you decide to style it. Hopefully it'll be more versatile than you expect! It's absolutely gorgeous. If I didn't already have the earlier, summer version, I'd very well be buying this one as well 🙂
Thanks, AppGal!! Like you, my ps told me that this skirt has endless styling options. And, as ABC points out, it gives me the opportunity to mix some old and new J. Crew. I will definitely post the outfits I create!!
I think you can pull out any color in the skirt and use it for a top. The Talia blouse in green would look great with it. I am going to wear it as in the pic above and with an anthro off white top with the african violet jackie over it. That's the only reason I bought that jackie:)Can't wait to see what you come up with.
A!! Great point about the Talia blouse. I love how you're styling it! Thanks to you, I'm pulling out my African Violet jackie now!!!
You look fabulous in this skirt!! There are so many colors in the skirt that you can pull from and create outfits. I was really tempted to get the paisley top, but I'm trying to be good about my spending.
Thanks, fshnonmymind!!!! I really appreciate the compliment! Um, I'm trying to be good too, but these new skirts keep getting me!!! Thanks for being here!
I can't wait to hear what you think:) I don't know what I am going to do if I love the paisley button up. Would it be silly to have both?)I also got the vintage v-neck long sleeve and a t to go with the skirt for a more casual look.
A!! I really like the African Violet jackie with this skirt! Now, I just need to find a shirt like your anthro shirt! I have the perfect shirt too. I really like this print, so I don't think it's too much. But, I should note that I buy multiples!!! Thanks for the wonderful styling option!!!
Beautiful skirt. Did you order your usual size in pencils?
maryeb: thanks!! I did order my usual size in this skirt. I think the royal paisley fits TTS. I hope this helps. Thanks for stopping by!
Glad you're liking the skirt as much as I do. I like your PS's recommendation of the Blythe blouse in green. I will have to try that combination.
Cleo!! Please let me know what you think of the Blythe blouse with the skirt! Now, I'm contemplating getting the Talia blouse in the paisley print. But, I already have the perfect shirt in this print…….so, we'll see!
