Hi Everyone!
I’ve been eyeing the No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Neon Tweed since it appeared on the J. Crew website. I hesitated to purchase the skirt because it’s yellow and yellow is not my color. However, I kept thinking about the skirt. Moreover, the wonderful Tara’s outfits here and here convinced me to snag this beauty. We wear skirts on the bottom and not near the face, right? Finally, my amazing retail VPS approved the color/purchase, LOL!
I’d love your honest feedback about how the colors in the skirt look against my skin tone.
Here are a few IRL pictures of the skirt:
What do you think of the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Neon Tweed? Do tell!
Thanks for stopping by!
I like it. I can't tell how it is with your skin-tone, though, the lighting makes it hard to see (or maybe it is just my monitor). I agree that we can wear difficult colors on the bottom half. Lastly, if your VPS approves it, I think it's a keeper, he/she has steered you right so far. But what is important is that you like it. If you think you will never reach for it, return it, otherwise keep!
cate: Thanks SO much! My amazing hubby snapped these pictures in my closet because it was dark outside, and the lighting in my closet can make it difficult to see actual colors. I think that this skirt is a keeper. I really love the colors. Thanks SO much for your feedback! Thanks SO much for being here!
Loooooooooooooove. Ok, now I'm green. I really want this skirt. Chambray shirt. Rock it. We're similar shades. I'm not sure what your undertone is. Mine is yellow. Love, Rynetta. Love.
Gigi: Awwwww, thanks SO very much! I genuinely appreciate your feedback! Browns and yellows typically make me look pale and absolutely horrible, LOL!Thanks SO much for being here!
ps fwiw, I've held that skirt up to me a couple of times and have loved it each time. Gigi Approved 😉
And, your opinion is worth a LOT! I LOVE your style!!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
So cute, Rynetta! They really did neon well here…it's not garish or IN YOUR FACE. Really pretty!
AppGal: Thanks SO very much!!! I totally agree that J. Crew nailed this neon. As you point out, it's not garish. Thanks SO much for being here!
Oooooh it is gorgeous! I want one too!Its hard to tell, but I reckon it looks great against your leg!

thatdamngreendress: Thanks SO much!!! And, you're right, this is a new color for my closet! Thanks SO much for being here!
Awesome!! A new colour to play with your rainbow of pretty tops!! I bet this would look great with soft pinks!
thatdamngreendress: OOOOO, soft pink is a great idea!
I love this skirt! Looks fantastic on you as the No 2 always does. I think the color works for you, and it's different when it's not worn near the face! Can't wait to see how you style it!
injanuity: I love this skirt too! The colors are absolutely striking. And, you're right, I think the skirt works because the colors are not near my face. I'll definitely post styling ideas soon! Thanks SO much for being here!
Yay, so happy it came!! Thanks for the shout out 🙂
Tara: Me too!!! And, you're very welcome! Thanks so much for sharing your great style! Thanks SO much for being here!
I really like this skirt Rynetta. I think it will go with lots if colors because of all the little flecks of color. I think it is unique and noticed it in store the other day. I wish I wore skirts mord often because the pencils always come in such lovely fabrics. I keep buying them and unfortunately there are at least 5 in my closet with tags still on. I guess I'm just more of a pants gal.
Shopping Celle: Awwwww, thanks SO much!!! I agree that the flecks of color really make this skirt quite versatile. I really appreciate your feedback!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
I was so close to ordering this one last week with the 20% off promo, but decided to order the cotton one in melon instead. Now that I see it on you, though, I wish I'd ordered it! I do see it's on sale now, though, so maybe….. By the way Rynetta, do you ever wash your cotton no. 2's? Or do you always dry clean? Thanks!
KLlovestoshop: OOOOOO, thanks so much for pointing out that this skirt is on sale now–I can get a PA! It's a really great skirt. I don't wash my cotton pencil skirts. I know that a lot of people don't like dry clean only items, but I do. So, I dry clean my skirts. HTH!Thanks SO much for being here!
this is really a great piece and versatile – agree with the others who say because it's a skirt you can make it work! can't wait to see your outfits!xox P
P: I totally agree with you that this skirt is really versatile. I'm glad that I decided to get it!!!! I'll post styling ideas shortly. Thanks SO much for being here!
Rynetta Hi!I have to chime in, I really love it and I think from what I can see from your pics, that you and your fantastic styling ideas can rock this skirt!! I am sitting in my house this morning with 8 more inches of snow falling and seeing this skirt made me smile and know warmer weather is on it's way. I love it enjoy it!!!
Hi MB! I'm so happy to see you!!! I genuinely appreciate your feedback! 8 *more* inches of snow, wow! I'm a winter girl through and through, so I wish that it was snowing here! Thanks SO much for being here!
I really like the tweed, and agree that a skirt is a great way to wear a color you might not want near your face. I love yellow. I am also sure that you have amazing necklaces to accent one of the other colors in the skirt.
KnitYarns: I'm with you, I really like the tweed too! And, you're right, a skirt is a really great way to wear a color that doesn't look so great near the face. About the necklaces: Awwww, you're super sweet, thanks! Thanks SO much for being here!
Gorgeous!
TC: Thanks SO much! I really like this skirt a lot! Thanks SO much for being here!
Aloha Rynetta! Hmm, now you have me thinking about this one as well. It looks awesome on you! I don't know why, but this skirt seems to have a very expensive look to it–channeling Chanel. Beautiful! I'm right with you on the lower-half color thing. Things get a lot easier the further they are away from the face. And shoes, that's where anything goes, lol!
Hi NovaStar!! This skirt is really gorgeous!!! I only hesitated because I thought the yellow would wash me out, but you're right, wearing it on the bottom half really helps to prevent that. Thanks SO much for being here!
