Hi Everyone!
I received the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Graphic Print yesterday. I really like this print. A big thank you to ajc who featured a picture of the skirt in one of her fabulous fall preview posts. Here are a few IRL pictures of the skirt:
A closer view of the print:
I’m sure that this print won’t work for everyone, but I really like it. What do you think of the J. Crew No. 2 Pencil Skirt in Graphic Print? Do tell!
Thanks for stopping by!
I haven't seen this skirt anywhere yet – this is my first time seeing it. First impression – you are far braver than I!! I can pile on the bulky, costumey jewels, but patterns really scare me! I have to stick to my "no more pencil skirts" rule for now – I don't even work! I know you will enjoy it! Have a great weekend! 😉
Suzy: I think that this skirt is part of the next rollout. I placed a preorder with my amazing online VPS. Patterns typically scare me too, but I really like this one! Thanks SO much for being here! Happy weekend to you too!
Interesting design – hope they keep them coming :)Tasia
Tasia: I agree! I hope that J. Crew keeps the bold patterns coming too! Thanks SO much for being here!
I love it!! What's the fabric content?
Ally: me too!! The fabric content is 81% wool, 19% silk. HTH!Thanks SO much for being here!
I'm not really feeling this skirt for me. But it's nice to see they matched up the back seam. It could've been all crooked and wonky. Are the side seams matched up? I wonder if they compromised the sides to make sure you didn't get crazy stares about the back.
audreybella: I knew that this pattern would not work for everyone the moment that I saw it. It's really bold. You're right, the back seam is matched up. The side seams are too. Thanks SO much for being here!
OMG!!! I LOVE this skirt, and I have to get it. It looks fabulous on you!
Buffy Alten: OMG is right! I love this skirt too!!! Thanks SO much!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
Love it. Can you provide style number and price?
JulieStyles: me too! The style # is 99266, and the price was $148 before my educator discount. HTH!Thanks SO much for being here!
It's very Bauhaus, not for me but for pattern lovers quite something.
Tabitha: I knew that this print wouldn't work for everyone, but I really like it!Thanks SO much for being here!
I love the print! But do you think the pattern makes for a bit of a target on the backside? I'd be inclined to wear a sweater or shirt over to minimize the effect. Overall though, it's a real head turner of a skirt. Thanks for the review!!
Closet Crisis: me too! I totally agree with you that the pattern "makes for a bit of a target on the backside." I would stay away from this skirt if I tucked my shirts in. Since I typically wear a button down under a sweater, or a belted shirt, I think that my butt will be covered, LOL! You're very welcome! Thanks SO much for being here!
I love this skirt!!! It could be made fun or sophisticated, very versatile!
cate: I totally agree, I love this skirt too! And, I'm looking forward to styling it!Thanks SO much for being here!
Wow. I love the colors and the fabric seems lovely and smooth. I actually think I might like it. It is not something I would gravitate towards, but it is eye catching and could look very sophisticated if yu paired it with the right pieces. Enjoy it!
KnitYarns: I agree, the colors in this skirt are great. As you point out, the fabric is really smooth. Thanks SO much for being here!
The fabric content sounds nice. I don't think I could do this print, but I like the colors. Looks good, Rynetta 🙂
Gigi: Thanks SO much!! The fabric content is really great! Thanks SO much for being here!
Very mod, I like it! I was just in the store in Charleston the other day and didn't see this. Is this an on-line only item?
biscuitsandnavy: I totally agree that this skirt is very mod. I'm not sure if the skirt has been officially released on the website. I did a preorder with my amazing retail VPS, and the skirt shipped the same day she placed the order. Thanks SO much for being here!
Not for me, but I love the blue with black.
Lane: I love the blue and black too. I was certain that this print wouldn't work for everyone as soon as I saw it. The print is really bold. Thanks SO much for being here!
what amazing colours – i'm loving all of your recent bold picks R!! xox Pphiphisblog.com
phiphis blog: Thanks SO much!! I'm really venturing into different territory here, but I really like this print! Thanks SO much for being here!
Looks great, and is super flattering, which I wouldn't necessarily expect a bold print to be (i.e., could have 'target on the backside,' as someone said, but I don't get that effect at all). Sounds like it might be a year-round choice with the fabric. Great pick!
Wendy: Awwwww, thanks SO much for the sweet compliment. I really appreciate it! I totally agree with your point about the "target" on the rear. I was expecting this skirt to accentuate the backside, but I am so glad that it doesn't!Thanks SO much for being here!
Omg, I cannot believe I missed this gorgeous print. First time seeing it, love it on you. I assume you are keeping it, I would.
Slastena: Thanks SO much!!!!! I agree, this is a great print. And, yes, I'm definitely keeping this gorgeous skirt! Thanks SO much for being here!
Rynetta, I just ordered this skirt online. It looked so great on you, and I love this mod pattern, (very Mad Men). I would be very interested in knowing how you are going to style it. Please post pics when you do, thanks for posting all your beautiful pieces!
Buffy Alten: Awww, thanks! I am SO glad that you got this great skirt. The print is really gorgeous, and you're right, it is very Mad Men. I'll definitely post styling pictures soon. And, you're very welcome! Thanks SO much for being here!
I think this is a fantastic print–did it run TTS?
sweetsy: I agree, this is a fantastic print! And, yes, it does fit TTS. I took my normal size 14. HTH!Thanks SO much for being here!
