Hi Everyone!
The lovely AD MD left me a comment letting me know that the J. Crew store in her city received a few new jewelry pieces. Thanks, AD MD!!! I stopped by the retail store in my city earlier today to take a peek!
My amazing online VPS has been telling me about a new peacock triple strand necklace. I love the colors, but unfortunately, this necklace just isn’t for me. Here are a few IRL pictures of the necklace:
For some reason, I’m just not a fan of the peacock on this necklace.
There was another elephant necklace that I really like, but I’m not sure if I can do the brownish color. Here are a few IRL pictures of it:
I love the magenta color on the elephant, but I’ll have to ask my amazing retail personal shopper about the colors in the chain.
And, finally, there is a new blue bubble necklace that came home with me! Here is an IRL picture of it:
I’ll post an outfit showing how I will style the necklace when my wonderful hubby gets home!
What do you think of these new J. Crew jewelry pieces? Do tell!
Thanks for stopping by!
I am not crazy about the peacockmaybe because of the color mixture and the size.Love the new bubble neclace, one of this days i have to buy one too:).Thanks for the pics!
Ina: You're very welcome! I'm not crazy about the peacock necklace either. I was super excited to see it because my amazing VPS had been telling me about it. I love the colors of the triple-strand part; however, the peacock detail just isn't my style.I love the bubble necklace!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
Wow, thank you so much for these amazing photos, Rynetta. I always love sneak peeks and IRL pictures. That peacock necklace is amazing, but not for me either.I love your new bubble necklace and can't wait to see it in an outfit!
Cate O: You're very welcome!!! I'm with you about the peacock necklace. I'm sure that someone else can rock it, but not me. I'm really looking forward to styling the blue bubble necklace. I'll post pictures later today!!Thanks SO much for being here!
I agree that the peacock is unwieldy, and that the tortoise is not the best frame for the elephant. I don't wear the bubble necklaces, although I admire them on you. I definitely like the 2 tone effect of the one you just bought. I am looking forward to seeing what you pair it with!
KnitYarns: You nailed it. "Unwieldy" is the right word to describe the peacock. I kept thinking that it was just too much when I tried the necklace on. I hear you about the bubble necklace; it's a big statement necklace. I like the two tone effect on this blue bubble necklace too!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
Total strike out for me.
Lane: I hear you! I was hoping for more striking jewelry pieces. Thanks SO much for being here!
LOVE the blue Bubble necklace! I'm not wild about the peacock necklace. (Reminds me of something from Joan Rivers jewelry on QVC…. )
Buffy Alten: me too!!! LOL about the Joan Rivers jewelry line on QVC!!!!! Too funny! Thanks SO much for being here!
I LOVE the elephant on the elephant necklace, but not feeling the chainlinks. Not crazy about the peacock either – it reminds of the rooster on the packaging of the rice we buy. I wish the bubble necklace would work on me, I'm envious of the way you can rock those necklaces! Can't wait to see some of your OOTD!
injanuity: I had the same reaction to the elephant necklace. I love the pinkish color on the elephant, but I don't like the chain colors at all. LOL about the rooster on the rice box…..whew, that was fuuuuunnnnnyyy!!!! I'll post an OOTD with the bubble necklace shortly! Thanks SO much for being here!
I am strangely attracted to the peacock! I will resist however, as my experience has been that those things which I am strangely attracted to are often just that – strange!!
WMM: I SO hear you about strange attractions!!!! I've been there! Thanks SO much for being here!
I'm actually fairly smitten with the peacock necklace. It's sort of a "go big or go home" look…but since I currently have nowhere to "go big", the necklace will probably not be following me home :pThanks for the reviews, Rynetta!
Whitney: You're very welcome! I can't stop laughing about your I have nowhere to "go big" comment!!! Thanks SO much for being here!
Oooo thanks for the previews! I like/don't like the peacock necklace. I think if it was in pendant form I would prefer it more. I think it's the multi-colored beads that I don't like. I'm pumping myself up soon to make a bubble necklace purchase. You have inspired me 🙂 I'm hoping to pick one up when I come to the States for a visit in 6 weeks (use my educator's discount :))
em in espana: You're very welcome!!! I had the same reaction to the peacock necklace! OOOOO, I know that you'll rock a bubble necklace to perfection! The educator discount always softens the blow, right? LOL!Thanks SO much for being here!
I don't know whether to love or hate that peacock. I think I may not like it because "he" is too skinny. Maybe a fatter, flamboyant peacock would appeal to me? Maybe. That blue is exquisite. Bubble necklaces look ridiculous on my small frame, but I am glad you will enjoy it for me! 😉
Anthro Blogger: I hear you about the peacock necklace. I love the colors of the three strands, but the peacock itself is just a bit much for me. And, like you, I love the blue color of the bubble necklace! Thanks SO much for being here!
Thanks for sharing all of your amazing photos! I'm not a fan of the peacock necklace, but the blue bubble necklace is quite stunning. I can't wait to see how you'll wear it!
M: I hear you!!! Like you, I'm not a fan of the peacock necklace. However, I love the blue bubble necklace!!! OOTD pics coming soon! Thanks SO much for being here!
hi rynetta – thank you for these sneak peeks!! i'm not sure about the peacock either – he did strike me as being a bit lacklustre and he needs to be screaming for that price tag!! :Pxox Pphiphisblog.com
phiphis blog: You're very welcome! LOL, you're absolutely right that the peacock needs to be "screaming" for that price tag!!!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
I really like the animal themes but not these pieces. I do so appreciate seeing them however. You can't go wrong with a bubble necklace however!
DaniBP: I totally agree. I was really anticipating the new animal theme jewelry pieces, but these two just don't do it for me. And, you're right about the bubble necklace! Thanks SO much for being here!
Oooo love that you got that new blue bubble necklace! It's gorgeous 🙂 Can you do a post with all your bubbles together and suggest what colors are your favorites and ideas how to pair each of the colors?! Oooo I'm drooling just thinking about it.Tasia
Tasia: You got it!! I really like this new blue bubble necklace! Thanks SO much for being here!
I like the elephant necklace, but I agree with you on the colour of the chain. It may not work well.
Rose: I agree, the elephant is super cute, but I'm just not a fan of the colors on the chain. Thanks SO much for being here!
I don't like the peacock either. It's very patriotic looking. Not a bad thing, but… The tortoise links are ok for the elephant necklace, but the pink & green don't go well with it. I saw that new bubble today and the blues are beautiful 🙂
Gigi: I hear you! "Patriotic looking" is absolutely right. And, you're so right that the pink and green elephant just don't match the colors of the chains. The blues in the bubble necklace are really stunning! Thanks SO much for being here!
Hi Rynetta! I saw these at my local crew yesterday too. Not a fan of either one. The elephant is a total strike due to the plastic chain (I have a frog necklace like that, same color already) and the elephant itself looks odd on that chain. The peacock should be beautiful colors – not red white and blue. I didn't like the beads with it at all either. Usually I fall for so much of the JC jewelry, but these two were an easy pass. I'm sure someone will like them! Red white and blue aren't really my colors – I'm having trouble with outfits for my white sequin jacket with the red and blue trim as it is. As for the blue bubble – I bought that blue cascading bead necklace in the spring – that's enough blue statement for me. I applaud you for remembering to take pictures! I never remember to do that! lol Thanks for sharing them! Have a great weekend.
Hi Suzy! Like you, I usually have a long J. Crew jewelry wishlist. However, the first two pieces just don't appeal to me. I love the bubble necklace. And, I have the Cascade Necklace too; it's adorable! I can't count the number of times I've left my camera at home!!!Thanks SO much for being here! Happy weekend to you too!
The light tortoise chain on the peacock necklace seems out of place with the jewel colors this season. I would have to see the peacock necklace on a person to decide if I like it. I like the colors but I think it's not for me. The bubble is pretty!
cate: I think that you nailed it about the colors on the chain seeming out of place. I love the bubble necklace!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
Hi Rynetta….I saw these two necklaces yesterday. Totally underwhelming. I so agree with you. Both have odd color combos. I just don't see a peacock/Phoenix (not sure what it is?) in red and blue. I thought the beads were cheap plastic and the enamel work on the Phoenix looked cheap as well. $175.00….really? If anyone like this design, check out all the gorgeous vintage pieces on ebay. You can pick up a stunning brooch for alot less money. Now the elephant….what were they thinking pairing those cheap tortoise links (same as used on the odd combo of yellow and tortoise on the frog bracelet) with the gold elephant. It just doesn't work. I felt the elephant wasn't developed enough design wise, too cartoony (my gripe about the elephant bracelet too) and again, just not rich looking. Bummer. Well, these will be on sale soon if anyone wants them!
Rynetta, thanks for the reviews! I'm happy you were able to pick up the new bubble–it's such a pretty color! J crew is supposed to release a new pink bubble soon. I think the color is called pink blossom? HTH!
Hi there,Just wanted to add a pro-peacock message to this chain.Yesterday I picked up the necklace at Jcrew and it is incredible! I'm tall, fair skinned and blonde – the colors in the necklace work well with my skin tone, as all the colors in the necklace work well on me.
Hi there,Wanted to add a pro-peacock comment to the thread.I picked up this piece yesterday at a Jcrew in NYc – I love it !The colors look great on my coloring (fair skin, blonde) but I can see how those colors are not an easy fit for most! The beads are glass, which makes it a piece with good weight.
