Hi Everyone!
The J Crew Faux Leather Pleated Midi Skirt is one of my favorite recent wardrobe additions.
The “spiced raisin” color of this skirt is SO vibrant and rich. As many of you know, I am a pencil skirt girl through and through. But, I have really been loving the a-line/midi silhouette. It is surprisingly flattering.
This J Crew Pinterest image really sold me on the skirt:
And, here is an IRL picture of the J Crew faux leather pleated skirt:
I replaced the J. Crew Icon Trench Coat in Wool Cashmere with the well-loved J. Crew Bella Jacket. The J. Crew Regent Blazer is a great alternative in my opinion because both blazers have classic and unique popped collars. I am also wearing the J. Crew Tippi Leopard Sweater, which gets 5-stars on the J. Crew website, and I totally see why. I took my normal size Large in the sweater. The fit, the quality, and the design of this sweater = SUPERB.
Details about the faux leather pleated skirt: Fit–I took my normal size 14. The skirt is designed to fit higher on the waist. Rather than drawing attention to the “problem” areas, this skirt camouflages them. The skirt is not too heavy, it’s lightweight and flowy/breezy. And, the faux leather is not stiff. As I said in my review of the J. Crew Collection A-line Midi Skirt in Italian Wool Blend (review here) , I was initially resistant to this silhouette. However, this silhouette is very flattering on curvier figures in my opinion.

Love, love this skirt. I'd really like to get it in the spiced raisin but don't know what colors to pair with it besides the leopard print. I'd love to hear your thoughts!!
maryeb: I love this skirt, too! I think that the "spiced raisin" color also looks great with the Sleeveless Drapey Popover Shirt in Clover Print the way that it is styled on the website. Please let me know if you try the skirt. I'd love to know what you think! Thanks for stopping by, as always!
Thanks, Rynetta. I love the clover print shirt and thought it was quite a unique, pretty pairing with the skirt.Tried the skirt today. I thought it looked quite nice with the Tippi in navy and saddle. Also liked it with the black Tippi, pretty boring, I know. So many choices!!
