Hi Everyone!
I received two J. Crew Factory Pencil Skirts yesterday and I really like both of them! Here are IRL pictures of the Factory Printed Pencil Skirt in Retro Orange and Black Plum:
Here is the Retro Orange:
Here is the Black Plum:
Check out these great skirts on the lovely Rose HERE. And, check out the lovely Alexis’s recent post about the J. Crew Factory Store HERE.
What do you think of the J. Crew Factory Printed Pencil Skirt in Retro Orange and Black Plum? Do tell!
p.s. I have a review of the J. Crew Raindrop Lace Top and reviews of a few other J. Crew shirts scheduled for tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by!
Great scores, rynetta! They look so pretty! The one on black plum looks way better than I thought it would from the website photo.
I just love the retro orange! What is the fabric like? For it to work for me, I would have to be able to style it very casually – like a tee/tank and flat sandals. What do you think?
They are so cute. I like the black plum. So you're happy with the factory skirts? Fairly good compared to the J. Crew ones?
Rose: Thanks SO much!! I totally agree with you about the black plum skirt; it looks much better IRL than on the website. I actually overlooked this skirt until I saw your review of it!ifky12: The retro orange skirt is lovely, I totally agree! And, the fabric is cotton-y, so I totally think that you can wear this skirt casually with a tee or tank and flat sandals. I'm going to try to put together a few casual outfits and post them! Please let me know if you grab this beauty!Small Town Gal: I think that these skirts are cute too! I am really happy with the quality of these factory skirts, and I think that the quality is comparable to the quality of the retail pencil skirts. I actually own the retail version of the retro orange from last year. The retail version is just a bit sturdier. HTH!Thanks SO much for being here ladies!
Rynetta – these look awesome! I finally pulled the plug and put in a LARGE order tonight (am hoping there will be a 20% off on Monday so I can get some back!), including the lace skirt in paris pink. I also ordered the schoolboy in the neon azalea, some tees, and the eyelet pencil skirt in chili. I added a mint t, am having a vision of mint and red, mint and pink. We shall see! I think these skirts look lovely! i also added the thandie in the viridian which I think may also work with the paris pink! Thanks for these reviews!
WMM: Thanks SO much!! You ordered some really great stuff!!! Please let me know how everything turns out. I hope that it's all a winner! I really wanted the eyelet pencil skirt in chili, but it doesn't come in a size 14. The schoolboy blazer in neon pink didn't work for me; the size 12 was tight in the arms, and the size 14 was too boxy everywhere else. I loved the color of the blazer. I can't wait to hear your reviews!!!Thanks SO much for being here!!!
I dom't understand why they are not carrying those in a 14. My sister is so upset, as really loved a couple of recent items and they were a no go. Everyone else goes there, why not JCrew! BTW – I keep forgetting to tell you that I love the look of your blog – it is very dorothy draper-esque and is just a totally happy vibe!
Rynetta, the skirts look fabulous on you. You take multiples to a whole new level when you buy the retail and the exact factory version of the same skirt! Hooray, I thought I was the only one!OT, did you see that AT is having 40% all full price items if you buy 3 or more (online only)? I am debating whether to return my neon jewelry and purchase online. I hate doing that, but in this case, it might be worthwhile…
WMM: I don't understand why J. Crew doesn't offer size 14s in all of their pencil skirts either. It really doesn't make sense that they offer the size 14 in the solid colors of the No. 2 Pencil Skirt, but then they're selective about offering that size in the printed versions of the No. 2 Pencil Skirt. I've written a letter, so hopefully they will actually listen to the feedback. I'm with your sister, I feel her pain!!! And, thanks SO much for your super sweet compliment about my blog and the design!!! I really appreciate that!audreys: Thanks SO much!! LOL, I totally take buying multiples to another level!!! I am SO glad to know that I'm not alone! J. Crew didn't offer the retail version of the paisley skirt in a size 14 last year, but the material was pretty stretchy, so I was able to size down. I wanted to make sure that I had a size 14 just in case though.About AT: I just saw their new promotion! I would consider returning and repurchasing; however, I was able to combine another coupon with the BOGO 50% off promotion. So, I got a sweet deal! If this promotion is a better deal than the BOGO 50% off, I'd definitely repurchase the neon necklaces online!!Thanks SO much for being here ladies!!!
Rynetta, thanks! For me it is a plus that the factory version of the orange skirt is less sturdy, I though retail version was almost 'too sturdy' fro the summer. You have both??
ajc: You're very welcome! Thank you for your great blog!!! I agree with you that the retail version of the paisley skirt is really sturdy for summer. Shamefully, I do have both. J. Crew didn't offer the retail version from last year in a size 14, so I sized down to a 12 because the material is a bit stretchy. I wanted to make sure that I had the factory version of this skirt in a size 14 too just in case, LOL!!!Thanks SO much for being here!!
Well you know I did have the retail version that I sold to a fellow jca but now I like factory version, isn't it crazy? How much is the factory version and do they have any promos ? I've never been tithe factory store but recently they have opened one about 15 minutes from my house, I should go check it out.
ajc: I know how you feel about selling something and then wanting it back! The factory version of this skirt was about 67.00 after my teacher discount. I'd contact a store first because I've noticed that the factory stores seem to have better deals/promotions than the online store. I wish that there was a factory store near me!!! The closest factory store is about an hour away from me.Thanks SO much for being here!!
