The J. Crew Cape Jacket in Wool Melton caught my eye immediately, but I almost passed on it because I wasn’t sure about the camel color against my skin tone. I am so glad that my Cincinnati VPS encouraged me to try this beauty because I LOVE it!
The reviews on this jacket will be polarizing because it has an oversized fit (and, it is not offered in a petite size). So, sadly, you will likely be sized out if you are on the smaller side.
Here are three IRL pictures of the cape:
You can see my amazing husband snapping the pic in the window, LOL!
Fit: I took the size M/L in this cape. Again, I love this piece. The quality is superb.
I styled my cape with the J. Crew Always Chambray Shirt, the J. Crew Biella Tassel Loafers, and the J. Crew Toothpick Jeans in Classic Rinse. I cannot wait to wear this outfit this Fall! Here is the Pinterest image that inspired me:
While in the Cincinnati store yesterday, I met a super sweet/cute blog reader! As I was checking out, she asked, “Are you Rynetta?” It was the sweetest encounter. I am SO grateful that you spoke to me. I had a great conversation with her and one of her friends about teaching!
As always, thanks for stopping by!
Thanks for being so sweet and approachable. As I said in the store, I love your style and genuinely appreciate your reviews. I'm not usually the type to introduce myself to strangers that I follow on the internet, so thanks for making me feel so comfortable! Now that I see how cute that cape looks on you, I'm feeling like I might need to test out a cape, as well! How great would that look with a wool pencil skirt and statement necklace…

Oh my word…I love everything about this look, Rynetta! I'm now convinced I need a cape too.
How fun you were recognized! Love the cape on you, it looks great!
It looks good on you, Rynetta! I haven't gotten my cape from ordering it last Tuesday. 🙁 I am so curious as to how it looks on me.
