Hi Everyone!
I hope that every mom who reads this blog is feeling duly celebrated today AND EVERY other day in the year! I’m not a mom, so I’m constantly amazed at how much moms juggle (literally) day-by-day/minute-by-minute. Whether a mom works inside or outside the home, her work NEVER ends. I’m wishing all the moms out there the very best!
I stopped by the J. Crew retail store this past Friday to take a peek at a few jewelry pieces. I’ve really been loving J. Crew jewelry lately. I blogged about the Azalea Necklace in Brilliant Blue previously HERE. I absolutely LOVE this necklace, so I decided to grab the Vibrant Flame color too. Here is an IRL picture:
I’m really looking forward to wearing this necklace; it will be in constant rotation in my wardrobe this summer.
Yesterday, I was able to stop by a Madewell store to return the Silk Dotty Passenger Skirt, which just didn’t work for me. While in the store, I spotted a pair of skimmers that I don’t see online. Of course I had to grab these shoes. Here are a few IRL pictures:
I love these shoes! I am worried, however, that the tan color may wash me out. What do you think?
What do you think of the J. Crew Azalea Necklace in Vibrant Flame and the Madewell Skimmers? Do tell!
Thanks for stopping by!
Ooooo good idea getting multiples of that necklace. I always end up regret not getting something in multiple colors if I really like it. Good idea! and the skimmers are super cute – such a great neutral, they'll go with everything!Tasia
Tasia: Thanks SO much for making me feel better about purchasing multiples!!! Like you, I typically regret not buying something I love in multiple colors. And, thanks a bunch for your feedback on the Skimmers. I'm still trying to decide if I'm going to keep this color. Thanks SO much for being here!
I think the skimmers are smashing! I think a more neutral colour is fine by one's feet – perhaps by your feet it would be an issue, but there they are just cute!
WMM: Thanks SO much!!! I totally agree that a neutral/tan color works on the feet even when it doesn't work up top close to the face. These shoes are super cute; however, I just can't decide how they fit into my wardrobe at this moment. I'm still thinking about keeping them, so we'll see! Thanks SO much for being here!
I love the necklace! I am terrible about accessorizing and can't wait to see how you wear it. The shoes are darling.
Misty Lynn: Thanks SO much!! J. Crew jewelry has been really drawing me in lately. I'll definitely post styling pictures with this necklace soon! I'm still trying to decide about the shoes, but I'll post an update about my decision on those too. Thanks SO much for being here!
I think the skimmers are more versatile because the base colour is neutral. Love the statement necklaces on you, I'm too chicken to wear that big a piece, will have to live vicariously through you 😉
Closet Crisis: Thanks SO much!! LOL about being a chicken. Years ago, I wouldn't go near a J. Crew jewelry case, now I can't stay away! The Azalea necklace is definitely a statement piece! Thanks SO much for being here!
LOVE the necklace and you are so smart to get it in both colors! The skimmers are awesome and you will find you wea them time over time. I just love your blog and like all of the J Crew clothes you wear so well!
kirbydog: Thanks SO much for your kind words about the necklace, the shoes, and my blog! I really appreciate it!!!Thanks SO much for being here!
I love the necklace, was wondering if it is heavy, because I am seriously thinking of picking this up. Say compared to the topiary pinwheel necklace, which I love and wore again yesterday, do you think they are about the same weight? I love the shoes, I think they will go with more then you realize!! Great picks as always Rynetta!!!
MB: Thanks SO much!!! The Azalea Necklace is a bit heavier than the Pinwheel Necklace. It's not very heavy, but more so than the Pinwheel. I hope that helps! Thanks SO much for being here!
The necklace is great, and I agree with buying more than one of an item, but I always regret it… I bought two of the same necklace from J Crew in different colours and haven't worn either, but that's just me. J Crew are geniuses at merchandising, and I find an addictive element to their stuff. Gotta have it. As for the polka dot shoes… if I may be frank, I don't think they're the most flattering in colour or shape for you. Ballet's are tough to wear. No matter how delicate and slim your feet, ankles and legs are, you have to "lift" the arch of the foot to get a flattering line. I would recommend a good, firm orthotic to create a nice curved line to your foot if you can't return the shoes.
Little Miss Im-Perfect: Thanks SO much for your kind works about the Azalea Necklace. I really like it, and I know that both colors will be in constant rotation in my wardrobe throughout the summer!About the shoes: thanks for your frankness. I totally agree about the color. However, I totally disagree about the fit. I think that ballet flats are easy to wear, and I think they fit my feet well. Thanks for visiting!
